The two everyday temperature scales.

Type in either box. The other one follows.

How this works

Celsius is (Fahrenheit − 32) times 5/9. Fahrenheit is Celsius times 9/5, plus 32. Water freezes at 32 °F and 0 °C, and boils at 212 °F and 100 °C. The scales are not a simple ratio, which is why zero is not zero.

An example

72 °F is 22.222… °C. 0 °C is 32 °F. The example starts at 72 degrees Fahrenheit, a mild room.
