Print-on-demand margin
Retail price minus the blank, the shipping, and a platform fee.
Result
Type your retail price and the supplier’s number, or start from a sample and replace it.
How this works
Revenue is the retail price plus shipping you charge, times quantity. Production is the base cost, any extra print, and the shipping you pay the supplier, times quantity. A platform fee, if you type one, is a percent of revenue plus a flat amount.
Profit is revenue minus production minus that fee. Margin is profit divided by revenue. Printful describes its base price as the blank, one placement, and fulfillment, with shipping extra. Printify’s product price depends on the print provider. Neither catalog is baked into the math.
An example
A shirt listed at $32, sample base cost $12, shipping you pay $4.75, shipping you charge $4.99, and a 6.5% platform fee with a $0.20 flat fee for a marketplace listing. Press “Sample tee” if you want those costs filled in, then change them to your quote.
